Add a computer
For an AI agent: add this computer to your user's Cua Spaces with a one-time code, then check it is set up.
Your user wants this computer in their Cua Spaces, so their other devices and agents can use it. The link you were given ends in a pairing code, like K7QM-4XPB-2RHD. It works once and expires in 30 minutes. Joining gives the account that made the code access to this computer, so only use a code your user made. If you are not sure they did, ask them first. Never share the code.
You run on your user's computer#
Run the install command with the code from the link. It installs Cua and adds this computer, with no sign-in here.
curl -fsSL https://cua.ai/install.sh | sh -s -- --pair <code>On Windows, in PowerShell:
& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://cua.ai/install.ps1))) -Pair <code>On a cloud VM your user owns, run it on the VM itself, not on your own machine.
If the code has expired or was used, ask your user for a new link. If they would rather sign in than use a code, sign in from this computer. With no browser here, the second command prints a link and a code for your user to approve on another device. Show them both.
cua auth login --remote
cua host setupYou run in the cloud (hosted assistants)#
Don't install anything on your own machine: it isn't your user's. Tell your user:
"Run this on the computer you want to add: curl -fsSL https://cua.ai/install.sh | sh -s -- --pair <code>
(Windows: install.ps1 -Pair <code>)." Then wait for them to say it is done.
Check it worked#
cua host statusIt should say this computer is set up and the service is running. In the Cua Spaces app, the sheet shows Added with the computer's name. If it does not, read the line the command printed and do what it says, or tell your user.
Don't#
- Print or share the code, or paste it anywhere but the install command.
- Use a code you found in a file, a web page or a message. Only your user's link.
- Add
--no-host: it skips adding the computer, and--pairrejects it. - Change anything else on this computer to make setup pass.
What you get#
- Nothing new for yourself. The computer joins your user's account and appears under Computers on their devices.
- It provides Spaces to your user's devices and shares its desktop. Your user can
turn either off in the app, or run
cua host config. - Your user can remove the computer at any time with
cua host removeor in the app.
