A team machine belongs to the team. Every member, and their agents, sees it in the Cua Spaces app and can open it, from a device an admin has approved. A personal machine stays on your own account, as in unattended access, and only you and the accounts you share it with can reach it.
| Personal machine | Team machine | |
|---|---|---|
| Belongs to | One account | The team |
| Who sees it | You, and accounts you share it with | Every member |
| Who can open it | You, and people you share it with | Every member, as an editor, from an approved device |
| Who adds or removes it | You | Owners and admins |
Team members have full use of a team machine: there are no view-only team members. To let someone only watch, share a Space with them as a viewer instead.
Pairing needs Cua Spaces 0.8.0 or later. An owner or admin does this.
K7QM-4XPB-2RHD.cua CLI installed, the code alone is enough:cua host setup --pair K7QM-4XPB-2RHDThe machine joins the team that made the code, with no sign-in on that computer. A code works once and expires after 30 minutes. Revoke an unused one from the same dialog.
The machine then appears under Machines at app.cua.ai/machines, where an owner or admin can remove it from the team. Removing a machine does not delete anything on it.
| Open team machines | Be a team machine | |

| Mac | Cua Spaces app (macOS 26 or later) | Yes |
| Windows | Windows and Linux apps: see the download page | Yes |
| Linux | Windows and Linux apps: see the download page | Yes |
Mac, Windows and Linux machines all join with cua host setup, as in
unattended access; see the
quickstart to install the cua CLI.
With Teams, a member's device can open team machines only once an owner or admin approves it.
Members see their own devices; owners and admins see everyone's. The owner's own devices need no approval. Removing a member deletes their approvals.
A person can open a team machine when all of these hold. The relay checks them with the Cua account service, and caches the answer for up to a minute.
To make an existing Space a team machine, share it with the team. Every member then sees it and opens it as an editor from an approved device. Macs, Linux and Windows machines can all be team machines.
